What is an Impressum or Imprint?

An imprint identifies the business that is responsible for the content of the website. There are strict formats for companies based in the EU. These formats are regulated by individual countries.

Is it required?

Imprint is required for all websites in many EU countries including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

How do I create one?

Non-EU businesses should include information about who is responsible for the content of the website: Name of company, name of individual (usually the CEO/MD), telephone, email, business address and company registration number. It is not recommended to include your website due to the current EU guidance forbidding the display of links on e-labels.
