Entering Gift Packs in Bottlebooks

Overview

There is no global standard for how to enter gift packs into standardized databases. Bottlebooks has therefore developed and agreed conventions with retailers and distributors using Bottlebooks. Follow the guides below on how to enter gift packs into Bottlebooks.


Gift packs with multiple wines

For gift packs with multiple wines, enter each wine individually. Additionally, enter information for the gift pack using the following approach.

Name

Enter a descriptive name

Most retailers will use their own name when publishing to their website.

Vintage

Enter Non-vintage unless all wines are from the same vintage


Alcohol

Enter the highest alcohol value


Varieties

Select primary varieties.

Gift packs normally have a special section in online shops. Varieties are typically not used.

Country / Region

Enter the most appropriate categorization.

Allergens

Combine all allergen information. If at least 1 wine has an allergen, declare it.


Organic / biodynamic certifications

Clarify with respective customer


Logistics details

Enter details of gift box, not the individual bottles


TARIC Code

Enter the most specific TARIC code that applies to all products.

Bottle GTIN

If GTIN is the same as case GTIN, mark “no barcode” for the bottle.

Barcodes must be unique when submitted data to GS1.
